Refurbishment for Bedworth Area Office

Bedworth residents will soon see an improved service from the Council right in the heart of Bedworth town centre. The Area Office is to be refurbished to allow even more services to be offered in a modern environment.

The existing office was originally designed to deliver Housing services but, in cooperation with Warwickshire Direct Partnership, moves are being made to offer a wider range of services from both the borough and county councils.

The refurbishment will see three additional enquiry desks, bringing the total amount to four, as well as a new waiting area and two private interview rooms.

Tony Lloyd, the councillor responsible for Customer Services, said:

“The refurbishment will allow the same level of service to be offered from Bedworth that is currently offered from the Town Hall in Nuneaton. The current office is in desperate need of a facelift and changes are needed to be able to offer the wide range of services that Bedworth residents want to access.

“The Bedworth office will close for a short time but services will continue to be offered from the Civic Hall, while the work takes place. The new facilities are due to be opened by the end of March.”

Bedworth Area Office will close to the public from Thursday 24th February 2011, with the work taking approximately three weeks to complete. Services will be offered from the Civic Hall until the new facilities are completed.
