Lighting Installed at Park

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council Crest
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has allocated £40,000 of core funding to help local communities to address issues of crime and disorder.

The Borough Council has been able to support a number of projects including the installation of lighting along the footpath at Bailey Park, Bedworth.

The park is used frequently by residents who walk to and from the town.  The lighting has been installed to try and address peoples fear of crime and to provide a level of reassurance for the people who use the park.

Councillor Bill Hancox, Ward Councillor for Bede says:

“There is very strong evidence that increased lighting makes people feel safer and reduces crime.  I am delighted that the Old Collycroft Residents Association have been successful in their bid to get the lighting installed”

Councillor Dennis Harvey, Portfolio Holder for Finance and Civic Affairs says:

“The installation of lighting is one step towards addressing the fear of crime experienced by our communities. I am really pleased that funding made available by Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council will make people feel safer when using the park.”
