Don’t miss out on chance to have your say

Although the General Election has yet to be called, council officials in Nuneaton and Bedworth are already working hard to make sure that all eligible residents can have their say on polling day.

Electoral Registration Officer Christine Kerr and her staff will be sending forms to households in Nuneaton and Bedworth throughout September to compile a new electoral register that will be the basis for next year’s elections, including the local elections in England in May.

By completing and returning the form voters will be making sure they will be able to have their say on what matters to them.

Registering to vote has never been easier as personal details can now be confirmed via a simple mobile phone text message, internet or freephone telephone call, details of which can be found on voter registration forms.

Christine Kerr, Electoral Registration Officer for Nuneaton and Bedworth, said:
“It’s simple to register, all you have to do is complete the annual canvass form that should be posted through your letter box in the coming days - if it hasn’t already arrived - and you will be able to help choose the people that make the decisions which affect your everyday life.

“For some people, this may be the first General Election that they get to take part in and may be worried about what to do. You can find out more by calling the Election Helpline on 024 7637 6221 or go to http://www.aboutmyvote.co.uk/.”
