Brighter Saturdays in Bedworth

Over the last few Saturdays, the streets of Bedworth Town Centre have seen a variety of entertainment from magicians, Punch & Judy and jazz bands. This has been well received by the shoppers and their families and has helped to create a welcoming atmosphere across the town centre. There has also been a visit by the Mayor of Nuneaton and Bedworth to the town centre and he will be returning soon as he enjoyed his stay.
Marcus Jones, Leader of the Council, said:
“Following the success of the entertainment in Nuneaton it was decided to extend this to Bedworth. We have found that it creates the right atmosphere making shoppers visit more enjoyable and brings a smile to people’s faces.”
John Ison, a Bedworth Councillor said:
“This is designed to help Bedworth become a place where people want to shop. We are currently setting up a Bedworth Town Centre membership scheme for the businesses. The entertainment is part of how the businesses can promote the centre and encourage the local people to support their town.
Alan Ottey, Town Centres Manager said:
“Look out for more. Over the next few weeks we have more varied and exciting entertainment coming. One to look forward to is something that will thrill the town centre as the Chinese Lion and Dragon dancing takes to the streets.”
The list of events coming to the Bedworth Town centre on Saturdays are as follows:
- August 16th Special balloon modelling for all
- August 23rd Mark Andrews magic show, amazement for all the family
- August 30th Chinese Lion and Dragon dancing (Mayor in attendance) Very Colourful
- September 6th Judith Vardy Dance Academy (Local talent showing their special dancing interpretations. )
- September 20th Return of the Chinese Lion and Dragon Dancing
