Connexions Parents Evenings

Parents can get a glimpse of what the future could hold for their children when they leave school at a series of careers events this month. (November)

 

Staff within the northern area of Coventry and Warwickshire Connexions have invited parents and guardians of pupils currently in Year 11 at schools in Nuneaton, Atherstone and Coleshill to attend one of the evenings.

 

They will be able to discover information on all options available to students from the age of 16 as well as details on local employment opportunities, source of funding and advice on career planning and the application process through Year 11.

 

Connexions Personal Advisers will be present to give advice on all education, employment and training opportunities, backed by representatives from other agencies like King Edward VI College, North Warwickshire and Hinckley College, Training Providers and the Prince’s Trust.

 

Steve Stewart, chief executive of CSWP Connexions, said: “Parents and carers can make a real difference to the success of their son or daughter.

 

“They are one of the most important influences on their child’s choice of career and to enable parents and carers to help make the right choice they need up-to-date information, accurate facts and support.

 

“These events give all of the information needed to help young people to take responsibility for their own future and help them to succeed.”

 

The events planned are: -

§        Monday 13^th November - 7.00 – 9.00pm at Stockingford Pavilion

§        Tuesday 14^th November - 6.30 – 8.30pm at Purley Chase Golf Club

§        Monday 20^th November - 6.30 – 8.30pm at Lee Marston Hall

§        Tuesday 28^th November - 7.00 – 9.00pm at The Chase Hotel, Higham Lane
