The Private Sector Housing Service deals with many housing matters supporting and advising private householders, owner occupiers, tenants and landlords in improving housing conditions.
We help using financial assistance, enforcement and support. We bring empty properties back into use, provide adaptations for disabled households, ensure homes meet the decent homes standard and investigate drainage problems ensuring they are resolved.
Our Customer Service Standards:
- We will make sure that our staff are accessible and polite and that service users and stakeholders are given names and contact details
- We use plain English, not jargon or complicated language in all spoken and written communications
- We can provide interpretation services if the first language is not English
- We take messages and return calls within one working day
- We reply to letters within 10 working days
- We make and keep mutually convenient appointments
- We carry identity cards and produce them when visiting clients homes
- We work to performance targets which are monitored and reviewed annually
- On receipt of an enquiry we aim to contact you and advise you within 3 working days.
