Kitchen/Bathroom Replacements and Rewires

 

 

We have listened to what our tenants have said and what they want in the way of repairs and renewals to their homes, and for most of them a new kitchen or bathroom is very high on the agenda.  Decent Homes surveys identified properties also requiring works. The following figures reflect the consistent investment the Council has made in this area over the last 6 financial years, with a total of 699 properties benefiting from the installation of a new bathroom or bathing facilities for tenants with mobility difficulties.

 

 

 

It is anticipated that approximately 130 properties will benefit from bathroom and shower installations during 2009/10.  This figure may vary, depending what work’s are identified by the surveys to properties.  Our sheltered schemes have also benefited from shower installations assisting the less mobile with facilities that are more accessible and this year we intend to carry out work at Cheverel Place and Kingswood Court.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Over the last six financial years, we have also invested in replacing kitchens with a total of 1,421 homes receiving new kitchens, as the following graph shows:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here again the proposed figure for 2009/10 may be subject to change, although we anticipate installing 260 new kitchens.
