The REC works to a constitution that sets out guidelines to how the committee should be run.  View the REC constitution

Each member holds a four year term, and half of the committee step down every two years.  The election process takes place through the Homing In magazine, and anyone is invited to stand for their relevant position.

The REC work at a strategic level looking at all aspects of the Housing Service.

Why do we do it?
How do we do it?
How much does it cost?

They want to ensure work gets done on time, that it meets the agreed standard, and tenants and leaseholders get best value for money on all housing services. They work together with contractors and housing services to ensure the best job is done.

Members of the REC do not take or report repairs, or deal with complaints. We have complaints forms that are monitored and the REC only get involved if they feel the system has failed in some way.

On average the members of the REC work six hours a week and its all on a voluntary basis. Everything they do is for the benefit of the residents of Nuneaton and Bedworth.

Please read the REC workplan 2011 for more information about what the committee will be doing this year.
