Rent is charged on a weekly basis and becomes due for payment on the Monday of each week. Rent has to be paid by no later than Friday of the same week.
Rent accounts are balanced on Sunday evening and will only take into account payments received by close of business on Friday, i.e. 5pm. This includes payments made at Post Office counters, Payzone and over the internet clearing by Friday.
As the tenant it is your responsibility to make sure your rent is paid on time. You must pay your basic rent and other charges when due. If you pay your rent fortnightly or monthly, this must be paid in advance.
Rent Free Weeks
Rent is charged for 48 weeks of this current financial year and there are four no-collection weeks where tenants with an up to date rent account will have a "free week". Some years there are 49 rent weeks.
These will be shown in your rent payment calendar. Tenants in arrears will be expected to make a payment in the rent-free weeks.
Rent Payment
You can change the way that you pay your rent. Please discuss this with the Financial Inclusion Team in the first instance.
We would normally provide a rent payment card within three weeks of the commencement of your tenancy.
You may also pay your rent using the online service at the top this page.
