As part of a countywide scheme, the Council is looking to re-designate many of its Wildlife Sites to Sites Important to Nature Conservation (SINC). It is hoped that this will afford more protection to the Borough’s wildlife areas.

Green Map
The Council has drawn up a Green Map which shows the areas important for nature conservation and geology within the borough. It also indicates the network of public rights of way based on the Definitive Rights of Way Map of 1999.
The Map can be bought with a sites inventory for £2.30.
