Comprehensive Performance Assessment

The Audit Commission has carried out a Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) of every Council in England. The assessment brings together evidence from a range of sources to measure the quality of the Council's services, examining how it uses its resources and whether it can improve its services.

Every so often we are visited by the Audit Commission, who inspect all councils to see how they are performing and what they are doing to improve the lives of the local community.

When they visited us in 2004 they rated us as a ‘weak’ Council, but following a more recent inspection in November 2007 we have now been rated as ‘GOOD’!

The Audit commission has recognised that the Council has made ‘considerable progress’ since the inspection in 2004, and has praised the development of our vision and priorities through consultation with communities, and the significant impact our achievements have had for the communities of Nuneaton and Bedworth – particularly in the regeneration of the Borough.
