Community Strategy

Local Agenda 21 (LA21)
Under the Local Government Act 2000 Part 1, there is a duty on principal local authorities to prepare Community Strategies for promoting or improving the economic, social and environmental well-being of their areas. An effective community strategy will also promote sustainable development both locally and nationally.

Nuneaton and Bedworth have just produced their third Community Plan entitled "SHAPING OUR FUTURE" and the key word is OUR. To try to ensure that everyone was involved in the development of all three plans, we met and consulted with as many representative groups and residents of the Borough as possible.

The third Community Plan 2007 - 2021 was launched on 30th April 2007.

The Local Strategic Partnership will be working with other partners to deliver its Vision and the aims of the new Sustainable Community Plan 2007 - 2021.

For a diagram on how this all links together please see below "Delivery Framework".
