Application Evaluation Process
The decision period to process applications is 42 days

The decision period will not begin until all required information has been received by the Council.

Will Tacit Consent Apply?
Tacit consent applies to this application.  The maximum period for dealing with applications is normally 42 days.
If ‘tacit consent’ applies it means that an application is automatically approved if a decision is not made within the above decision period.  In all other cases approval can only be obtained following the decision regardless of the time taken.

It is in the public interest that we must process your application before it can be granted. If you have not heard from us within a reasonable period, please contact us.

Public Register
Some applications will be recorded in a Public Register.  A list of our current public registers can be viewed on our website.

To appeal against decisions
There is no statutory right of appeal if you are refused a licence but you may appeal to the High Court for a review of the decision. Please contact the Licensing section in the first instance.

Consumer Complaints
If you need to make a consumer complaint about the trading standards of a business we always advise that you first contact the business - preferably in writing (with proof of delivery).  If that has not worked, if you are located in the UK, Consumer Direct will give you advice.  From outside the UK contact the UK European Consumer Centre.

If you need to complain about anything relating to a licence or approval granted to a business by the Council, please use the link at the top of the page to make your complaint.

Data Protection
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council will take all the necessary steps to ensure that personal data held about its employees, customers, suppliers and other individuals is processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.  View our Data Protection Policy.
